03-21-17: Added a newly identified Koca Nola franchise in Hendersonville, North Carolina, increasing the total number of confirmed franchises to 75 in 24 states.  Thanks once again to Dennis Smith, the "super sleuth" researcher who just keeps finding them! 

03-08-17: Added Koca Nola franchises in Columbia, Tennessee and Missouri Valley, Iowa thanks to recent input from Dennis Smith.  The addition of these two increase the grand total number of confirmed franchises to 74 in 24 states.

04-12-16: Updated mailing address and telephone number on Contact Us page.  Added a new "WANTED" ad to the How You Can Help page.

03-14-16: Early on we were informed a bottler in Mt. Airy, NY once had a Koca Nola franchise, but years of research have failed to confirm such a franchise and the listing has been deleted.  Recent research by Dennis Smith has turned up newly-identified Koca Nola franchises in Crawfordsville, Indiana, and New Decatur, Alabama, boosting the number of confirmed franchises to 72 in 23 states.  Check the "Confirmed Koca Nola Franchises" listings in the Koca Nola History section for details.

03-06-16: Thanks to input from skilled researcher Dennis Smith, three more Koca Nola franchises have been identified, boosting the confirmed total to 71.  Review the "Confirmed Koca Nola Franchises" listings in the Koca Nola History section for details about the newly identified Koca Nola franchises in Franklin, Louisiana, Macon, Mississippi, and St. Matthews, South Carolina.  Thanks, Dennis!

02-25-15: Added a newly identified Koca Nola franchise in Patrick Springs, Virginia, boosting the total number of confirmed franchises to sixty-eight!

12-07-14: Added four newly identified Koca Nola franchises in: Newport News, Virginia; Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania; Shelby, North Carolina; and Rutherfordton, North Carolina.

09-16-14: Charles David Head's article "My Top 10 Koca Nolas" was published in the September 2014 issue of Antique Bottle & Glass Collector magazine.  

08-02-14: Added a listing for "The Brecheisen Bottling Company of Kenton,Ohio" to Charles' ever-growing list of publications.  This chapter from his new book, A Head's Up On Koca Nola, was recently published by the Hardin County (OH) Genealogy Society.

04-16-14: Added a link to Sam Evans' Georgia Bottle Collecting site to the Favorite Links page.  Check it out!

03-11-14: Added two newly identified Koca Nola franchises in Brooklyn, and Sag Harbor, Long Island, New York.

06-12-13: Updated the last paragraph of the "Who is Charles David Head?" portion of the Charles David Head page.  Deleted the image of a damaged Crystal Springs, Mississippi crown top and replaced it with a photo of a beautiful, mint example on the Koca Nola History page.

08-04-12: Added publication of Charles David Head's Young Collectors Corner cover story article entitled "Cade Bellamy, a 10-year-old Alabama boy, is our hobby's Ace in the Hole" in the August, 2012 issue of Antique Bottle & Glass Collector magazine to the "Recent Publications" portion of the Charles David Head page.

02-11-12: Updated the Koca Nola History page by deleting references to Koca Nola franchises in Bessemer, Alabama, and Fort Mountain, North Carolina.  This reduces the number of confirmed Koca Nola franchises from 63 to 61.

01-30-12:  We are very pleased to announce that Charles David Head's article "The Bottle Man of Atlanta" won a third place award in the 2011 AB&GC Writers' Contest.

12-10-11: Updated the Koca Nola History page to reflect newly discovered information indicating the Koca Nola Company was still in business in Atlanta as late as 1918.  Added a photograph of a Bridgeport, Alabama medicine bottle to the "Wanted For My Personal Collection" portion of the How You Can Help page.

09-02-11: Added Jeff Dahlberg's name to the list of research providers on the How You Can Help page, and also cited the Rockford, Illinois 1899-1923 City Directories.  Changed the year of Koca Nola's demise from 1914 to 1916 on the Koca Nola History page thanks to newly discovered documentation.  Added Arkansas, Delaware, and Louisiana to the list of states with Suspected Koca Nola Franchises.

06-01-11: Added five new franchise listings for Koca Nola bottling plants in: New Haven, Connecticut; Jasper, Florida; Rockford, Illinois; Bath, Maine; and Charlotte, North Carolina.  The Connecticut, Illinois, and Maine bottlers are the first confirmed Koca Nola franchises for those three states, boosting the total states to 20.   

04-10-11: Added a photo of the Macedonia Baptist Church in New Hope, Tennessee to the "Bottle Man of Atlanta" AB&GC article.  Updated the information concerning a planned book about the Keen family on the Keen Bottling Company history page.
